This Full Moon is “witchy” to say the least. This month’s full Moon rises on the eve of Friday, September 13th, 2019, reaching peak fullness at 12:33am EDT on September 14th, 2019. It has been said that the number 13 is lucky number; we have 13 full moons/13 menstrual cycles in a year and not to mention that Friday is associated with the Goddess Venus. Friday the 13th only happens about one-three times a year, so it’s not very common for a full Moon to match up on this lucky date. The last Friday the 13th Full Moon was January 2006, 13 years ago (with the next being August 2049, 30 years from now)

This full Moon is known as the Harvest Moon because it occurs during the harvest and near the autumnal equinox.

It’s also a Micromoon. A Micromoon is a full Moon that occurs when the Moon is at the farthest point in its orbit around Earth causing it to appear about 7% smaller and 15% dimmer.

September 2019’s Full Moon Highlights:
